Bio
Adam R. Wood is a British-born Emmy Award Winning Director & Editor based in Los Angeles.
Wood began his entertainment career in London as a videographer and editor for well-known musical artists such as Jay Sean, Craig David, Chicane, and many more. He worked for acclaimed independent UK management and record labels 2Point9 and Jayded.
Subsequently, he began to transition into Editing and Directing music videos for (among others) artists such as Tyga, Pharrell, Michael Jackson, Jay Sean, and Lil Wayne, including their hit "Down," which was a US Billboard #1 hit single in 2009.
Alongside his colleagues at 2Point9 and Absolute Marketing, Adam was jointly nominated for MusicWeek's 2010 INDEPENDENT BREAKTHROUGH OF THE YEAR Award.
Moving to Los Angeles that same year, he moved into Advertising Editorial, working on campaigns for Audi, Hyundai, Scion, Playstation, Yamaha, Bombardier, and many more. He also did broadcast work for Fox Sports with "My Beautiful Game" on the thrilling moments of International Soccer featuring David Beckham.
During this time, he pursued his passion for documentaries by collaborating on the "Re:Generation Music Project," directed by Amir Bar-Lev. This led to his work on a series of documentary films, such as "Moments Of Truth," directed by James Bryce; "JFK—An Idea Lives On," "First Love: Mario Andretti," and the multi-award-winning "Clouds Over Cuba," all directed by Ben Tricklebank.
Scooping an Emmy at the News & Documentary Awards, "Clouds Over Cuba" went on to collect 11 Cannes Lions, a D&AD Yellow pencil, five One Show pencils, ADC gold and bronze cubes, Gold at the ANDYs and Clios, two Webbys and the AICP Next award, making it the most awarded digital campaign in the U.S. for 2013
Wood also has a keen interest in comedy and short film, recently completing the 20th Century Fox/ATV feature "Janoskians - Untold And Untrue" as well as regular online comedy shorts for the online prank sensations. The dramatic short "Pepper" (the story of an unlikely friendship between a young boy searching for his missing older brother and an aging female impersonator) was part of the Official Selection at Frameline Film Festival and Art of Brooklyn. And coming soon, "Fate" (starring Amaury Nolasco and Robert Knepper from TV's Prison Break) is about a diamond heist and subsequent chase across the frozen roads of Finland and sun-drenched California.
Wood remarks, "I find what attracts me the most to a project is one where I can work collaboratively and in synergy with all arms of production. Working with the director, actors, and artists through post and finishing. Those exciting occasions where a team can pull together, shape, hone, and refine the creative vision is something I truly live for. And to try to have as much fun as possible in the process!"
